“look mama, i’m famous!”<\/p>\n

this is kane’s amazing rescue story told by his mommy, jina culleton of nanaimo, british columbia.<\/p>\n

“kane is my BIG lil’ man!\u00a0 he’s a 3 year old, 3 lb applehead chihuahua<\/a><\/strong> who was born on february 6th, 2013. \u00a0 at 12 hrs old, he only weighed a mere 2.4 oz because his mommy stopped feeding him.\u00a0 i took over and hand fed him every 1.5 hrs for 2 months and then slowly switched him to solid foods.<\/em><\/p>\n

at 3 months of age, he was adopted by a young girl.\u00a0 2 months later he became ill with pancreatitis, (among other illnesses) and he almost died.\u00a0 he was brought back to me as all the tests the vet had done came back negative and somehow he was still failing.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

i\u00a0 hand fed him again every hour to help him gain his strength back as he couldn’t stand without wobbling and falling over and then we decided to take him to a specialist in vancouver for an mri and ct scan.\u00a0 turns out he had a small hole in the back of his skull near his spine and is far sighted.\u00a0 he was malnourished and starving \ud83d\ude41\u00a0 the specialist said that if i didn’t feed him the way i was, kane would not have survived.<\/em><\/p>\n

today, at a happy and healthy 3 yrs old, kane is is thriving and loving life as a chihuahua!”<\/em><\/p>\n
