what toothpaste is safe to use for them?? I use organic natural toothpaste myself that has no chemicals or foaming agents in it but im still not sure if thats safe for them?

It helps that they like the toothpaste. but you have to start doing it really young…shakey seems to know the routine. 🙂

It’s all about patience, with these little guys. My chi Gus, is nervous about nail clipping, what i do is put him on his back in my lap, pet him a lot, talk quietly to him, i clip one paw at a time, give him a break and a treat, then do the rest of his paws the same way. this was a great video showing that being gentle and calm can help you do pretty much anything, your dog picks up on your body language, and reacts to it, so if you get tense remembering past bad experiences, even if you don’t mean to, so will your dog. thanks for sharing the video, now off to brush gus’s teeth 🙂

Patience Joey…tire your lil Chi out first if that helps. Lots of excercise than try it. Remember to remain calm. One of my CHI’S IS GREAT THE OTHER NOT SO GREAT BUT OVER TIME WITH PATIENCE AND PRACTICE SHE IS GETTING BETTER. I CAN CLIP NAILS, BRUSH TEETH NO PROBLEMS….ITS ALL ABOUT REMAINING CALM AND LETTING YOUR PET KNOW EVERYTHING IS OK IF WE R CALM.

how do you get him to sit still, i cant even clip my chis nails without him throwing a fit..
